Syed Nurul Hoda

The Second son of Syed Nazir Ali, Syed Nurul Hoda(Geda)
(13th Generation),
He was born in 1912 in a respectable family of Bogra He was an Income Tax Pleader and practiced on Bogra since 1950. He was a very popular and eminent tax lawyer, social worker and politician in the district of Bogra. He died in the year 1989. During his student life, he came in touch with Hossain Shaheed Surwardee, A K Fazlul Huq, and Netazi Suvas Bose and got involved with various social and political movements. He was a regular contributor to ‘Radial Humanist’- a magazine edited by M. N Roy. Later on he started the publication of Juboshakti- a magazine for youth in 1936 from Bogra. From 1953 he become active in Awami League politics and played an important role in the election campaign of late Mohammed Ali, former prime minister of Pakistan in the jukto front election of 1954 as his personal friend and adviser. Eventually, as a close associate of Moulana Bashani he took active part in the formation of National Awami Party. As an active social worker, he was elected the president of Lions Club of Bogra but resigned from the post in 1958 in protest against the Israeli aggression against the Muslims in Middle East. During his long professional, social and political life he served several district committees of land, defense, law and order etc. as member, became president and secretary of tax bar association several times and played active role in different public and private development work. He and his elder brother has donated all of their ancestral property in Sonatola and founded Nazir-Akhtar Govt. Degree College at Sonatala, Bogra, in 1968.
He married Syeda Khademul Mawla niece of the then chief Justice of Dhaka High Court Mr M Murshed.
He has two sons Syed Zakiul Huda(Zaki) an architect Engineer now settled in Arizona, USA with his son and daughter and wife. The youngest son Syed Sadrul Huda (Sirul) is in Dhaka working as a Assistant Professor in East West University Dhaka. He has two children one son and daughter.
